Core programs at Universal Technical Institute (UTI) teach students the foundational skills needed to prepare for a career as a technician. After graduation from our Automotive, Diesel, Automotive/Diesel or Motorcycle programs, you can apply for Manufacturer-specific training that has been created in conjunction with leading manufacturers in order to give graduates specialized, high-demand skills. In addition, our core Marine program includes manufacturer-specific training.

“Our experience with MIAT is great! We’ve had a really good success rate. I would say about 90% of our employees right now are MIAT graduates,” Heath says.
“When we go recruit UTI students, we’re really looking for someone who shows consistency in their attendance at UTI, has good grades, and really shows a passion for wanting to begin a career in the collision and repair industry,” Britton says.

But he knew he’d get out of it what he put into it, so he persisted. “Going to MMI is a great way to learn about the new technology because there are some things out there that are more complex than they used to be. With the electronics that motorcycles have now, it’s a great thing to go somewhere to learn about that specific technology in order to work on it properly.”
